That was a little bit of a drive. The new animals are all doing great. And we are now beginning the month of March. Wow… Spring is upon us. About time, eh?
Anyway, want to see a Centipede vs. Tarantula:
I know that was a bit random, but i was dying to share that one.
So they are building a new car dealership next to Becky’s right by the shop. What does this mean? Nothing, actually. It’s just interesting to see a new car dealership being built when the auto industry is hurting so bad. Well, actually i think it’s a used car dealership. And i imagine used is the way to go these days.
Anyway, not much of a post tonight. Just wanted to throw up that vid. More later…
Colombian Black and White Tegus

Panther Chameleons

African Fat Tail Gecko
Trap Door Spider
White’s Tree Frog
I’ll update the available exotics listing tonight with photos. Until then…
Happy Warm Night… At least it was warm here. Anyway, we finished the watering stuff in the rat room today. That just got a lot easier. We also got another holding rack jammed in that room. So we should be stocked on mice all summer.
We are placing an animal order tomorrow. I will post the update on that tomorrow afternoon. We are expecting a few new guys, but mostly restock. A few new tarantulas as well.
So has anyone ever seen the Gravity of Light? It’s about Aldous Huxley. Good stuff. I would embed the video, but google video has it at some screwed up resolution and it doesn’t display correctly. So here’s the URL:
Check it out. Anyway, nothing new going on with the TDI. We are all staying plenty busy. We are wrapping up the many projects for the month of February. Getting ready for March. Spring is upon us. That means babies, babies, lots of food, and more babies. Good times.
What’s up clan? Sorry about the missed posts. It has been a bit of a hectic weekend/Monday. We are pounding out a bunch of projects this week. We were installing a permanent water bucket refilling system for the rodents this evening. It exploded. It was freaking crazy. When i was walking through the rat room, it was splashing. Good thing we have concrete floors and a floor drain. Easy clean up, but a bit of stress. I’ve decided that my life is a rotating disaster. After staying a bit late, i decided i’ll finish it tomorrow. Teflon tape is amazing.
Anyway, we will be getting new animals this week. I think we are going to push it till Friday. The reptile availability right now kinda sucks. So we’ll push it to the last minute so we can take advantage of any last minute shipments this week.
So they are building a car dealership next to Becky’s Carpet and Tile. It should significantly light up our parking lot at night. That will be nice for everyone.
So speaking of Waterworld, did you all hear that they are going to re-release it? That movie never did good in the first place. Why would you re-release it? That’s like re-releasing Cannibal Holocaust. Freaky. Speaking of movies, you all should check out Fear(s) of the Dark. Good Animation. Check it out:
Good stuff. I think it falls in line with Fantastic Planet. Anyway, more tomorrow. In the mean time, enjoy a little Chocolate Rain…
So it was another crazy Saturday. We are having a sale on CB Macklott’s Pythons and CB Jungle Carpet Pythons. Our breeder had a bunch of extra stock. We were able to get them at a discount and we are passing it on to you. Macklott’s are 39.99 and Jungle Carpets are 99.99.
Anyway, today provided a nice balance of sales and work on our projects. It was a great opportunity to get ahead before the week begins. We will be getting animals for sure this week. We have a bunch of empty cages. Keep your eyes open for an update on all that.
I have an interesting clip for you all tonight. Check it:
What is up TDI Crew? Boy these last few days have been busy. Real busy. We’ve been on the road most of the week. We presented to several Boy Scout Troops this week. We also got to kick it at Grant Middle School today for their science day. We presented to roughly 400 people at Grant.
Yesterday we visited Timberline Fisheries in Marion, Illinois. We were able to get a tour of the facility. It was pretty amazing. It was wild to see how a global distributor operates. A big thank-you to all the great folks out there at Timberline.
We got some baby bearded dragons in today. We should have plenty of them until our eggs start hatching. We have a slow weekend on demos. So i’m looking forward to a busy weekend at the shop. Tomorrow morning, Hoots and I will be attending breakfast with Mayor Graham. Other than that, there isn’t much official business going on tomorrow. We have several projects nearing completion. We are finishing up two more holding racks for our rodents. We are also wrapping up the construction of our new incubator. And finally, we are installing an upgraded water source for our rodent room. No more filling buckets. Good times. We will be wrapping all this up this week.
You can expect to see more new animals next week. I’m not real sure on specifics. We’ll post some next week.
Anyway, lots of updates for you all. Will post more this weekend…
Have you guys ever heard that Umphrey’s Mcgee song? Good stuff. So happy Monday to all. For those of you who work for the government or the schools, i hope you had a good holiday. To everyone else who worked today, i bet you’re wore the hell out. I know i am. Busy Monday.
Anyway, for those of you looking for baby bearded dragons, we are expecting about 20 this week. But of course, you never know what is going to happen with animal shipments. We will likely get other animals as well. More on that tomorrow or Wednesday.
So, i don’t have any random video clips today. Maybe tomorrow. We have a pretty full day tomorrow. It seems that this week is the week of boy scout demos. We had one yesterday, one tomorrow, and one Friday. Good times. I really like presenting to the scout troops. It’s a nice change of pace sometimes.
Anyway, just winding down for the evening. I’ll get those updates on the animals ASAP. Until next time…
Wow, so yesterday was an intense day. I started my demos in Wentzville, MO and finished here in Fairview Heights. Wentzville was a good drive. 120 miles round trip. But the party was great. The kids were awesome and the parents were even better. So it was worth the drive for sure.
So i have some random videos for you all today. Check them out:
And this one. Did you notice the caterpillar?
And one more for ya:
Anyway, gotta get ready for the tail end of the weekend. Let’s do it.
Good Afternoon TDI crew! Happy Friday to all. I hope you all are ready for St. Hallmark’s Day tomorrow. Be sure to spend plenty of your hard earned cash on things that are red and sweet. You can look at it as an investment in Hallmark. Because if we don’t buy into “holiday’s” such as St. Hallmark’s day, they too may need to seek a bail out from congress. So either way you’re screwed. You can buy the merchandise, or give them your tax dollars. If you couldn’t tell, I’m a bit of a Grinch when it comes to so called “holiday’s” like St. Hallmark’s Day.
Anyway, do you all like noodles? I was at the Zoo the other day and you wouldn’t believe what i saw. Check it out:
That really happened at the Zoo, i swear. You believe me, right? Good! Anyway, it’s time to begin another weekend. I’m sure it will be crazy as ever. We have several parties throughout the St. Louis area this weekend. We also have a party in our party room. Those are the best because i don’t have to travel.
So did you all hear about that jet that crashed into a house in Buffalo? You know, if that had happened a few years back, everyone would have freaked out about terrorism. I’m glad that we as a country have gotten past that scare. Do you all remember that? There was a threat level thingy. One day it was red, then orange, etc, etc, etc. I remember driving onto Scott AFB and seeing that thing posted at the gate. Scare tactics… Crazy.
Anyway, not much going on this morning. Just putting together orders for early next week. There is a chance we will get another animal shipment next week. That won’t be confirmed until after the weekend. Until then…
