It’s been hot, but hell yea. It’s summer. Good times. Things are going strong at the TDI. Our breeding projects are moving right along. One of our new female veiled chamelons laid a nice clutch of 72 eggs yesterday. Those will be ready right around christmas time. We just got an adult trio of Jungle Carpet Pythons from Jeff Hartwig. They are badass! We also picked up a proven pair of Children’s and Spotted Pythons.
The new tegu cage is pretty much done. The doors are getting painted today and hung tomorrow. I figure by Monday we’ll have them in the cage. They will be off display for a couple weeks once we move them. We are still bringing Waterland tubs into the store. They will be a permanent in-stock item. But i expect those to be a couple weeks before we get them.
We will likely have an animal order next week sometime. We have been buying so many animals from local breeders lately we haven’t had to order anything in. But there are a few items that need ordering.
Anyway, it’s Friday. Lots to do as usual. Until next time…

Good Morning Earth. It seems that our planet is till intact. So what a week. Our new Tegu cage is just about done. We busted ass to get that done this week. And the weather was not much help when we were outside cutting lumber. But alas, we have just a few finishing touches. We probably won’t get the Tegus moved until the last week of the month. But it’s coming. They are gonna love this thing.
So we only have one demo today. We have a few dotted through out the coming week. Otherwise this week doesn’t hold much. Just wrapping up some projects and trying not to sweat to death. We had to downgrade almost all of our heat lamps in the shop this past week. We had cages reaching like 118 degrees. On that note, make sure you all check your cage temps. When it gets warmer outside, it gets warmer inside. And when your room temperature rises, so does your cage temperature. So the bulbs you used in the Winter are likely to strong for the summer. We have already had two customers overheat and kill their animals. I would hate to see any more of that.
So today is snake feeding day, and our snake feeder can’t be here. So we need to get cracking on all that. Until next time…

Good morning. Kind of a sleepy start today. Crazy weather in STL. It was 90 something degrees yesterday and now it’s in the 60’s. Crazy…
Not much going on today. There are a bunch of odds and ends that need to be tackled. Today is a good day for that sort of stuff. We are setting up four more holding tanks for rats today. We are aiming at keeping more rats on hand for the summer rush. All those snakes are really eating now. Lots of rodents.
On that note, enjoy a game…
